Denmark first with carbon tax for farmers
Denmark is the first country in the world to introduce a carbon tax on livestock farming. The historical agreement is crucial to meet the target of a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. Also, agricultural land is transformed into forests, meadows and wetlands. Through the “Green Tripartite”-model Denmark has achieved what other countries didn’t: a cooperation between farmers, industry and environmental groups.
