Hi, I’m Rolien Créton
I am a journalist and filmmaker from the Netherlands, based in Copenhagen and working as a video correspondent, covering all the Nordic countries for Dutch public news broadcaster NOS.
I am specialised in creative, visual storytelling, whether for social media, online or broadcast. I have a passion for finding stories that tell the big picture by breaking it down into small, relatable visual stories. I am also a true camera nerd and work as a 'one-woman band', delivering high-quality videos in various formats.
I grew up in the Netherlands, studied Science of Communication in Utrecht and Madrid and completed my Master's in Aix-en-Provence, France. I ended up in the far North, as a Nordic correspondent covering current affairs in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland and Greenland.
I am married to a Danish journalist and crimewriter and have two daughters, Elin and Naja. In my spare time, I love to take a winter bath with my friends. When I'm standing on the ladder in the freezing cold, I can ask myself why on earth I am putting myself through it. But, as in real life, I know that it is often rewarding just to take the leap.
